A Monmouth County Jury has returned guilty verdicts on nearly all charges against the Jersey Shore man who murdered a longtime family friend, authorities said.
He set her home on fire in an attempt to cover his tracks, according to Acting Monmouth County First Assistant Prosecutor Michael J. Wojciechowski.
Ronald J. Teschner, 52, was convicted of first-degree murder, first-degree felony murder, first-degree robbery and three first-degree weapons offenses, Wojciechowski said.

One Swimmer Drowns, 2 More Saved Off Jersey Shore: Report
One swimmer drowned and two others were rescued off the Jersey Shore, NJ Advance Media reported.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was located just after 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 in the water near the 100 block of Ocean Avenue North in Long Branch, the outlet said citing an email from Police Chief Domingos Saldida.
Two others were taken to a nearby hospital for examination, the report said.
Assisting agencies include the township’s fire department, beach rescue, U.S. Coast Guard, and the New Jersey State Police.

Jersey Shore Man Strangled Dad, Choked Aunt: Prosecutor
A Jersey Shore man has been arrested and criminally charged with breaking into his father’s home and attacking two relatives, killing one of them, authorities said.
Ernest K. Kotey, 43, of Hazlet, is charged with first-degree murder, second-degree burglary, and second-degree domestic violence strangulation in connection with the death of Nikoi Kotey, 77, and neck injuries sustained by his 67-year-old aunt, according to Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey.
