Coastal Flooding, Wind Expected From Pre-Valentine's Day Winter Storm On Jersey Shore
While many parts of the Jersey Shore won't see snow, a winter storm is expected to bring some issues right before Valentine's Day, forecasters said. According to the National Weather Service, moderate coastal flooding is forecasted from Perth Amboy to Cape May on Tuesday, Feb. 13. Minor flooding coastal flooding is expected along the Delaware Bay and Delaware River. Parts of Burlington, Cumberland, Monmouth, Ocean, and Salem counties are expected to get about an inch of snow. Jersey Shore Acupuncturist Sexually Assaults Patient: Prosecutor
A 57-year-old Jersey Shore doctor has been charged with sexually assaulting a patient during an acupuncture appointment, police said. Dr. Jeng K. Kuan, of Matawan, assaulted the woman during her appointment on Thursday, Jan. 25, at the Prosperity Health Center on Route 34, where he is the clinical director, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said. Kuan, who is listed online as a chiropractor, was charged with one count of second-degree Sexual Assault and one count of fourth-degree Criminal Sexual Contact. The threat of freezing rain and icy roads has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Winter Weather Advisory across portions of North Jersey and the Lehigh Valley. NJ Exec Dies Walking His Dog, Obit Says: 'Treated Clients Like Family'
John McTague, a financial executive from the Jersey Shore, had died at 51 years old, according to his obituary. The online memorial said McTague died while walking his dog on Wednesday, Jan. 10. He was born in Jersey City and grew up on the Jersey Shore in Spring Lake Heights. McTague's LinkedIn page said he was a senior vice president and certified financial planner at Buckman, Buckman & Reid, a brokerage firm in Little Silver. More than 14,000 customers across the Jersey Shore are without power on Monday, Jan. 10, after strong winds and rain raced across New Jersey overnight. Most of those who lost electricity are in Monmouth County, according to utility companies. Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) said 10,489 customers were without power as of 11 a.m. Those included 2,169 customers in Marlboro, 1,238 in Millstone, and 1,088 in Colts Neck. A restaurant is re-opening along the Jersey Shore just in time for summer, and an expansion project will give customers many more options. Jersey Shore Restaurant Group (JSRG) purchased Breakers Kitchen & Tap on Route 9 in Waretown last year.
