Police: Shots Fired During Child Custody Exchange In Central PA, 2 In Custody
Two people were in custody and one person hospitalized after gunfire broke out during an arranged child custody exchange in Lancaster County, authorities said. Rashaun Taylor and Thalia Ortiz, both of Reading, were arrested shortly after police issued a Be On The Lookout "BOLO" alert Sunday night, the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department said. A school bus (van) crash in Lebanon County has become a fatal accident, after the bus driver died from his injuries, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Larry Schauer, 72 of Lebanon, died at a local hospital from injuries he sustained in the crash on Thursday, according to the Lancaster County Coroner. York County Man, 31, Dies In Crash On Rt. 30 In Lancaster
A Windsor Township man died in a crash along Route 30 in Lancaster on Sunday, say East Hempfield Police. Albert Gilbert Meier Acosta, 31, was travelling Westbound on Route 30 in Lancaster near Rohrerstown Road in a Mini Cooper when he struck a disabled Chrysler 300 parked along the shoulder, according to police. Police arrived on the scene of the crash at approximately 9:26 p.m. The impact of the Cooper into the Chrysler caused the Chrysler to catch fire. Motorcyclist Airlifted To Hospital After Sending Police On Chase In Lancaster
A motorcyclist was airlifted to a hospital following a police chase in Lancaster County on Friday, say Pennsylvania State Police. Ryan Alexander Stephanic, 27 of Lancaster, sent police on an approximately six mile long chase from Route 30 and along New Holland Pike while traveling 75 mph in a 40 zone around 2:55 a.m., say state police. The pursuit ended when he turned into the Dart Container Corporation parking lot, where he crashed his motorcycle. PSP officers on the scene provided treatment until he was airlifted to Lancaster General Hospital. An investigation is ongoing, says PSP.

Arrest Made In Deadly Mountville Shooting
A woman has been charged in last Friday's deadly Mountville shooting, West Hempfield police said. Cherrelle Alish Byrd, 34 of Mountville, was in an argument with Richard Williams on the 400 block of Hillsdale Drive when they found the victim -- Richard Williams -- with a single gunshot wound, police said. Williams later died at Lancaster General Hospital. Byrd was arrested for criminal homicide at 4:25 a.m. on Saturday. She was remanded to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail. Byrd’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 28.
