A New York man who punched another father in the face outside a children’s play area was convicted of assault on Wednesday, April 22, authorities said.
Joshua Hunter, 47, was found guilty of third-degree assault and seven counts of child endangerment, the Albany County District Attorney’s office said.
Hunter, of Schenectady, was at The Littles Play Café in Latham on Feb. 23, 2025, when he spotted another man speaking with his daughter, investigators said.

Motorcyclist, 25, Killed In 2-Vehicle Crash In Niskayuna
A 25-year-old man died after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle on a busy Capital Region roadway.
The Schenectady County crash happened just before 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, on Troy-Schenectady Road near Algonquin Road in Niskayuna, according to police.
Christopher Reith, 25, of Latham, was riding a motorcycle when it was involved in a collision with another vehicle. Reith was transported to Ellis Hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead, police said.

A registered child sex offender from the Capital Region, who once served prison time for trying to coerce a minor into sexual activity, is accused of doing the same thing again to an even younger child.
Nathaniel Drescher, 41, of Latham, was arraigned on charges of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor in Albany federal court on Thursday, May 15.
An investigation found that Drescher attempted to “persuade, induce, and entice” a child he believed to be 11 years old to engage in sexual activity, the US Attorney’s Office said.

Albany County residents Kristy Koldis, age 45, and Joshua White, age 46, both of Latham, were arrested Friday, July 28, after troopers were tipped off that inappropriate pictures of a child were being shared online.
