Fake Vape Products, E-Cigarettes Discovered On Long Island
After finding fake and altered vape products and e-cigarettes during a sweep of some 60 locations, Nassau County Executive Laura Curran announced a new effort to crack down on the sale and distribution of counterfeit e-cigarette and vape products. Former Nassau County Executive Tom Gulotta, who was in charge for more than a decade before he was forced to not seek reelection in 2001, died on Sunday, Aug. 4 at the age of 75. Styrofoam packaging will be a thing of the past in Nassau County after lawmakers voted to approve a proposed polystyrene ban. The bill makes it illegal to sell or distribute Styrofoam products. Services Scheduled For Marine From Locust Valley Killed In Afghanistan
Services have been scheduled for a Marine from Long Island who was killed in Afghanistan and will be buried at Calverton National Cemetery. There will be visiting hours for Marine Sgt. Robert Hendriks from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, at Whitting Funeral Home on Glen Cove Avenue in Glen Head. There will be a graveside service at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday at Calverton.
