Two From Westchester Named Students Of Year For Raising $36K
Two Westchester County high school seniors have been named The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Connecticut Westchester Hudson Valley Chapter 2018 Students of the Year. Brian Dervin, of Archbishop Stepinac High School, White Plains, and Hanna Cleary, School of the Holy Child, Rye, ran as co-candidates to raise the most money during a spirited seven-week competition to support LLS’s mission to find cures for blood cancers and ensure that patients have access to life-saving treatments. Westchester County Executive George Latimer named Joseph K. Spano as Commissioner and Louis A. Molina as First Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Corrections during a Thursday news conference in White Plains.
