A Loudoun County mom is seeking support after her disabled daughter died.
Jessica Josiah Burke, of Leesburg, died Monday, Nov. 27, according to her mom Betheny Burke. She was 18 years old.
Affectionately called "Pia" by her mom, Jessica battled Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, a rare genetic condition, and "brought immeasurable joy and love to those around her," her mom said on a GoFundMe campaign.

Woman Assaulted, Man Slashed In Leesburg Bar Fight: Police
Two people were arrested in a fight that broke out in the parking lot of a Leesburg bar overnight, police said.
Joseph Smith, 32, has been charged with one count of malicious wounding while Eric Dekenipp, 39, of Lovettsville, has been charged with one count of simple assault in the 2 a.m. incident on the 500 block of East Market Street, local police said.
Four adults had left the bar before an argument broke out, police said, leading to a physical fight between Dekenipp and another man.

A 32-year-old Leesburg man was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 28, after police say he possessed a stolen handgun.
At 4:39 a.m., police observed a Saturn commit numerous traffic violations at 28th Street and Prospect Avenue, officers said. After initiating a traffic stop, police found Dontae Black, the passenger, to be in possession of a a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun loaded with seven bullets, four of which were hollow-points, officers said. Safeway Fresh Foods, based in Vineland, NJ, is recalling fresh-cut butternut squash sold in Costco stores in several states, due to E. Coli found during routine testing.
A letter was sent to customers who purchased the product between Sept. 7 and Sept. 15.
