Lamar McBride, 46, was heading south in the northbound lanes of N. Wood Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle turning onto E. Gibbons Street in Linden around 2:30 p.m, Linden police said. Train Cars Overturn After Derailment: Linden PD A 90+ tank railcar train derailed in Linden on the morning of Thursday, Feb. 15, police said. At 7 a.m., police responded to reports of a train derailment near Tremley Point Road and found an industrial tank railcar stopped on the tracks near the Conrail Garden State Secondary line at Road to Grasselli, officers said. Man Fatally Struck By Vehicle Crossing Highway: Linden Police (Update) A 60-year-old Linden man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Monday, Dec. 18, police said. A 78-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman from Old Bridge were heading south on Route 1 when they fatally struck the man as he crossed the highway at 6:49 p.m., police said.  The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Police declined to identify who was driving the vehicle, citing the ongoing investigation.
