A Take 5 winning ticket, worth over $40,000, was sold in Lindenhurst for the Friday, July 28 evening drawing, the New York Lottery announced.
The ticket, worth $40,476.50, was sold at Balinder, located at 76 West Montauk Highway.
Take 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one to 39, with two televised drawings at 2:30 and 10:30 p.m.

Traffic Stop Turned Jail Time: Long Island Man Sentenced For Cocaine, Heroin Possession
What began as a normal traffic stop has now landed a Long Island man behind bars for a decade.
Lindenhurst resident David Marmol, aged 41, was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Tuesday, July 11 for his possession of a number of illicit substances, as well as a metal knuckle knife, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney.
On February 20, 2021, Marmol was pulled over in what was originally a routine traffic stop in the vicinity of South Fifth Street and Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst.

Driver Flees Fiery DWI Crash In Lindenhurst, Police Say
After driving drunk, crashing his car, and fleeing the scene, a Long Island man was apprehended by police.
According to Suffolk County police, 37-year-old Anthony Lacorte was driving his GMC Sierra while intoxicated at around 11:40 p.m. when he crashed into a parked car on 21 Lido Parkway in Lindenhurst.
Though his car lost a tire in the crash, Lacorte, who is from Massapequa, continued to drive, police say.
About a mile and a half later, at the intersection of Second Avenue and South Fourth Street, the sparks from the tire rim on the pavement caught Lacorte’s car on fire.

Woman Uses Stolen Property, ID To Score Cash From Long Island Pawn Shop, Police Say
A 40-year-old woman is accused of using another person’s identity to pawn stolen goods at a Long Island business, authorities said.
Jacqueline Nollman Hubbard, age 40, of Hauppauge, was arrested Tuesday, Feb. 21 near a pawn shop in Lindenhurst, according to Suffolk County Police.
Detectives began investigating after discovering suspicious activity by someone who sold new items at the store between Feb. 8 and 14.
