An independent flower shop in Northern Westchester is preparing to close its doors after nearly a decade in business.
Upper Village Blooms, located at 122 Grand St. in Croton-on-Hudson, announced over the weekend that it will officially close after eight years in business.
The florist’s final retail day will be Sunday, June 7. Throughout June, the shop will also sell remaining inventory, display pieces, and furniture.

Tony Damiano, the founder and executive director of the Ridgewood Guild, has died, the organization announced Saturday, Dec. 20.
Damiano was a familiar face in Ridgewood’s downtown, where he spent years helping bring businesses and residents together through the Ridgewood Guild. Founded in February 2010, the nonprofit works to promote local businesses, boost sales, and support the village’s central business district, according to the Guild’s website.
