Two men pleaded guilty to their roles in robbing, shooting, and killing a Long Island man who had just received a significant amount of money, officials announced.
On Thursday, Sept. 7, the Nassau County District Attorney announced that Eric Baldwin, age 27, and Corey Grier, age 29, pleaded guilty to charges including murder and robbery, respectively, for their roles in a September 2021 incident.
The DA’s Office said that on Sept. 10, 2021, victim James Diamond, age 28, and a friend drove to a Long Beach law firm to pick up a check that Diamond was awarded as part of a lawsuit.

A Long Island teenager has been indicted for allegedly running a stop sign, striking another teenager with his SUV, and causing his death, authorities said.
Valley Stream resident Mactyme Michel, aged 19, was indicted on Monday, July 10 for his role in a January 2023 incident that killed a high school senior in Long Beach, the Nassau County District Attorney announced.
On January 12, 2023, Michel was driving a 2012 Honda Pilot northwest on Cantiague Lane in Westbury.

Police are seeking the community’s assistance in identifying a woman who they found lost with no personal belongings or identification on Long Island.
The woman was located on Sunday, June 4, at East Broadway and Lincoln Boulevard in Long Beach, according to the city’s police department.
She is non-verbal, detectives said, and was disoriented when she was found. She had no personal belongings or identification.
