All eastbound lanes of I-495 will be closed in the towns of North Hempstead and Oyster Bay between Willis Avenue and State Routes 106/107 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to transportation officials. Authorities are searching for a driver who reportedly grabbed another driver and cut a passenger's throat during a road rage incident on Long Island. It happened in Farmingville at about 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, the Suffolk County Police Department reported. Melville Man Killed In Hit-Run Crash On Long Island Expressway In Ronkonkoma
A man who was lying in the roadway off-ramp of the Long Island Expressway was killed by a hit-and-run driver. The incident took place in Ronkonkoma around 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 5. Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives report the man, identified as Robert Twiford, age 61, of Melville, was lying in the roadway of the LIE Exit 60E off-ramp when he was struck by at least one vehicle, which then fled the scene. Police are investigating a fatal overnight crash on the Long Island Expressway. It happened just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25 in Nassau County. An occupied 1999 Ford Explorer was stopped in the westbound HOV lane at Exit 48 in Plainview when the vehicle's rear was struck by a 2018 Kia Sportage travelling in the same direction, Nassau County Police said. State officials announced that an $80.1 million resurfacing project on the Long Island Expressway was completed one month ahead of schedule. Gov.
