A Queens man posing as a spiritual guide was arrested after trying to scam a Long Island woman out of $62,000 for fortune telling services, Nassau County police announced on Friday, July 18.
Hemanth Kumar Muneppa, 33, allegedly convinced a 68-year-old woman to pay him $20,000 for psychic services on Thursday, July 3, detectives said. When she returned for a follow-up session at Anjana Ji on South Broadway in Hicksville on Thursday, July 17, he demanded another $42,000.

A woman killed in a suspected drunk driving crash on Long Island has been identified days later.
On Thursday, July 17, Nassau County Police confirmed that Cindy Saborio, 40, of Wantagh, died just before midnight Tuesday, July 15, when her car was struck head-on on Seamans Neck Road in Bethpage.
Saborio was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, Joseph Curto, 54, of Seaford, was critically injured and transported to a nearby hospital, as Daily Voice reported.

A 55-year-old man was arrested in connection with a string of commercial burglaries on Long Island.
George Dimou, of Middle Island, was taken into custody Sunday, July 6, after Suffolk County Police linked him to several recent break-ins at businesses in Shirley, police said.
Dimou was caught on video breaking into Carlo’s Pizza on Glen Drive around 3 a.m. that same morning, where he stole cash, police said.
