Man Screaming For Help Rescued From Drowning By Bridgeport Police Officers
Two Fairfield County police officers came to the rescue of a man who was screaming for help and drowning after jumping into the Long Island Sound to save his dog. The incident took place in Bridgeport around 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18 near the Seaside Park Bathhouse. IDs Released For Two Killed In Boating Accident Off Stamford Coast
State officials have released the identities of two men killed in a boating accident off the coast of Fairfield County. The men have been identified as Cristofer Cifuentes, age 26, and Ludyn Cifuentes, age 41, both of New York City, said Will Healy, spokesman for the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. The owner of a Fairfield County marina will avoid time behind bars but was hit with a heavy fine as he was sentenced for abandoning boats in the Long Island Sound. John Magness, formerly of Southbury in New Haven County, was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay a $45,000 fine for scuttling several sailboats and motorboats between Black Rock Harbor and the Pennfield Reef Lighthouse in the Long Island Sound.
