Community Looks To Save Historic Madison Movie Theater From Demolition Concerned community members are looking to put a stop to the demolition of Madison's historic movie theater.  Saxum Real Estate, a Parsippany-based company, on Tuesday will present its redevelopment plans the Historic Preservation Commission. The company purchased the theater from Bow Tie Cinemas in February 2017. The commission must approve construction plans -- which include a mix of residential and commercial -- as the theater is designated as a historic building. Close CALL: Tree Falls On Madison House No injuries were reported after a tree fell onto the roof of a Madison house.  Aside from a shutter being knocked out of place of the Valley Road home, no structural damage was reported in the Wednesday afternoon incident, Lieutenant John Miscia said. The tree fell Wednesday at approximately 3:30 p.m., and brought response from the borough's police, fire and building departments. First responders worked to remove the tree to avoid more serious injury, Miscia said.
