New Jersey officials on Monday alerted the public to a COVID-19 outbreak at a popular Jersey Shore bar. Anyone who visited Leggett's in Manasquan between Oct. 17 and Oct. 22 may have been exposed to the virus, State Health Commissioner Judy Persichilli said during Monday's briefing in Trenton. At least nine servers and bartenders at the 1st Avenue bar tested positive for COVID-19. Manaquan High School Goes All-Virtual Due To New Coronavirus Cases
With the discovery of three new COVID-19 cases in Manasquan, the school district has opted to keep high school students home for all-virtual learning. Also, SAT and ACT tests have been cancelled at Manasquan for the next two weekends, officials said. Remote learning will be effective until Oct. 18, according to Manasquan Superintendent of Schools Frank Kasyan. Popular Jersey Shore Beach Towns Limit Passes Due To Crowds
Two Jersey Shore beach towns are limiting the number of beach passes due to crowds. Belmar is capping the passes sold at 7,500 and Manasquan is limiting them to 1,000 per day on weekends, for any type of pass. Both were in effect as of Saturday. The new Belmar policy will "fluctuate to a lower number" depending on how many seasonal badge holders are on beaches and the tides on any given day, the borough's office of emergency management said. 19: Manasquan Recreation Programs Suspended After Counselors, Staff Test Positive
Recreation programs in Manasquan were suspended for a week after several employees tested positive for coronavirus. A recreations counselor, a junior guards counselor and several other employees tested positive for the virus, Recreation Chair and Councilman Michael Mangan said in a video. Prosecutor: Manasquan Physical Therapist Groped Employees
A Manasquan therapist groped two former employees while pretending he was teaching them, said authorities who suspect there may be other alleged victims. Investigators charged Lukas I. DeLorenzo, 35, of Neptune Township with inappropriate sexual contact, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.
