Richard L. Boyle. Boyle, who died in August at age 89 will be buried this Friday following his death from pneumonia last month, devoted nearly half of his 90 years to military service. Memorial Services Scheduled For Ridgefield Police Chief John Roche Memorial services have been scheduled for John Roche, who died on Thursday, Aug. 30 less than a week after his retirement as Ridgefield police chief. He was 62. Chief Roche is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia (Hance) Roche,  and their four children: Amanda Almstead and her husband, Brett; Megan Roche; Michael Roche and Steve Roche; his two granddaughters, Marin and Sydney Almstead; and his brother, William Roche and sister, Sharon Angyal.
