A Morris County man with a history of drug use abused and threatened officers who were serving him with a warrant and restraining order, authorities charged. Adnan Smajlovic was found sleeping in a vehicle when authorities came to his house to serve him a warrant and restraining order around 12:40 a.m., June 27, Mansfield Township police said. He became belligerent when officers woke him up and informed him of the warrant, refusing to leave his vehicle, police said. Former Would-Be Bank Robber Busted With Heroin After Leading Police On North Jersey Pursuit
A Warren County man once accused of trying to rob a Wildwood bank was found with heroin and other drug paraphernalia after leading police on a pursuit across Warren and Hunterdon counties, authorities said. Police observed a vehicle being driven by Brandon Ivens, 32, of Port Murray on Route 46 in Hackettstown on Saturday, May 30 around 1:20 p.m., authorities said in a release. Ivens had an active no-bail warrant out of Mansfield Township and a wanted person warrant from the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office for a fraud offense. Warren County’s first case of COVID-19 was confirmed Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. The patient, a 56-year-old man from Mansfield Township, was treated at Hackettstown Medical Center. “While this is understandably concerning to residents, we will continue to work with county and local officials to help limit the spread of COVID-19 in our communities,” said Pete Summers, Health Officer of the Warren County Health Department. Police: Woman Charged In Pocket Knife Stabbing At Hackettstown Apartment Complex
A Hackettstown woman was being held in the Warren County Jail after police said she stabbed someone with a pocket knife in an argument about beer. Hackettstown police responded to an apartment on the 200 block of Main Street on a report of a medical assist on Saturday, Jan. 4 around 6:30 p.m. After confronting a person about having beer inside of the apartment, Nicole Russell, 46, of Mansfield Township, stabbed the victim in the left shoulder with a small pocket knife, police said. Teacher From Warren County Charged With Child Sex Assault Won't Ever Teach Again
A Warren County man who was charged with sexually assaulting a girl for five years since she was 12 had his teaching license revoked, state education officials said. Michael I. Levitt, of Washington, whose LinkedIn page said he worked at -- Katzenbach - New Jersey's School for the Deaf in Ewing -- was indicted on multiple charges of sexual assault, child endangerment and aggravated criminal assault in July 2017. North Bergen Man, 22, Identified As Victim In Fatal Turnpike Crash
The person killed in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike Saturday in Burlington County is a 22-year-old North Bergen man, State Police said. Mohamedam A. Elbezaz was in a rear seat of a car traveling north around 4 p.m. when the vehicle bounced off a guardrail and collided with an SUV in Mansfield Township. Elbezaz was pronounced dead at the scene.
