Authorities Release ID Of Woman Killed In South Jersey Motel
Authorities released the identity of a woman who was killed last week inside a Maple Shade motel room. Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Maple Shade Police Chief Christopher J. Fletcher asked the public for assistance with the homicide investigation. The victim was identified as 36-year-old Michelle L. Johnston, who had lived in multiple locations recently in the Burlington and Camden county areas. : Woman Found Dead In South Jersey Motel, Authorities Say
A woman was found dead in an apparent homicide at a South Jersey motel, authorities said. The unidentified victim's body was found inside a room at the Bel-Air Motor Lodge in Maple Shade, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina said. The investigation began just before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, when police were called to the motel in the 2800 block of Route 73 for a report of an unresponsive female, Coffina said. Three suspects were arrested and slapped with drug and weapons charges in a Mercer County narcotics bust last week, authorities said Wednesday. Xaview Colon, 20 and Bashawn Newton, 28, of Trenton, as well as Jennifer Halcomb, 39, of Maple Shade, were seen in a suspected narcotics sale on Jan. 19, Trenton Police Director Steve E. Wilson said. A 32-year-old man was fatally shot near a Burlington County apartment complex, authorities said. An investigation began after Maple Shade police were called to Fox Meadows apartments just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday for shots fired. The victim, Ezekiel Sanders Jr., was found on Gardenia Drive with gunshot wounds. A South Jersey robber who armed himself with a butcher knife has been sentenced to 13 years in a New Jersey state prison, authorities said. An indictment charging a 51-year-old man from Maple Shade with murder in the beating his roommate was returned last month, authorities said. Police ID Man, 33, Killed By Car In South Jersey
A 33-year-old man was struck and killed by a car on Route 73 in South Jersey, authorities said. Michael Macintosh was struck near the Willow Road intersection just before 2 a.m. in Maple Shade, local police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver stopped and was cooperative with authorities, and the crash remains under investigation.
