Jimmy, known professionally as “Jimmy the Jester,” died after being involved in a car accident, according to several news reports and social media tributes. UPDATE: A disgraced former New Jersey State Police sergeant was sentenced to five years in prison without parole after a jury convicted him of using an ID card to get out of a string of Jersey Shore traffic stops while he was suspended from the force. Ex-NJSP Sgt. Marc Dennis, 51, of Waretown, also must forfeit his pension and cannot be publicly employed in New Jersey ever again, state Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin said. Car Thief Kills One Person, Hurts 3 In Wild Central Jersey Pursuit: AG
A car thief being pursued by police crashed into several civilian vehicles killing one person and hurting three others overnight in Central Jersey, authorities said. A Marlboro officer was pursuing the car stolen from a local home when it struck unrelated civilian vehicles around 2:15 a.m. near the intersection of Spring Valley Road and Route 9 South, the State Attorney General's office said. The identities of those involved were not being released. The Attorney General’s Office was investigating, as is standard procedure.

An ex-con was convicted in federal court of selling cocaine and crack along the Jersey Shore, authorities said. Damion “Checks” Helmes, 42, of Cliffwood was the last of 20 defendants convicted of peddling the drug throughout Monmouth County and into Ocean County. Jurors in U.S. District Court in Trenton found Helmes guilty of various drug-dealing charges while acquitting him of two gun offenses following a two-week trial. A Jersey Shore couple was found dead earlier this week was the result of a murder-suicide, authorities said. Felino Badua, Jr., 66, is believed to have killed Priscilla Badua, 68, and then himself, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey said. Their bodies were found by police performing a welfare check at their n Albermarle Drive home in Marlboro on Tuesday, Sept. 6 around 2:25 p.m., Linskey said. A former New Jersey woman filmed sex acts with her dog while her ex-boyfriend filmed over the course of eight years, authorities in Florida said. Christina Calello, 36, "willingly engaged in sexual activity with the dog" while Geoffrey Springer, 39, recorded them and put them on a flash drive, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said. Two passengers were killed and two drivers were seriously injured in a crash on Route 9 in Freehold Sunday, July 3, authorities said.
