A Long Island man is facing charges after police allegedly found illegal drugs and hundreds of dollars in cash inside his home.
Charles Whittlesey, age 61, of Massapequa, was arrested Monday, Oct. 24, following an investigation by the Nassau County Police Department’s Narcotics/Vice bureau.
Detectives executed a search warrant on his Massapequa home, located on Euclid Avenue, where they reportedly found a clear plastic bag containing a clear, rocky substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine.

21-Year-Old Accused Of Robbing Hicksville Restaurant, North Massapequa Gas Station
A 21-year-old man was charged after police said he robbed a gas station and a restaurant on Long Island.
Maxwell Thomasson, of Massapequa, was arrested following a robbery in Hicksville at about 3 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
Police said Thomasson entered the Crown Chicken and Grill, located at 357 South Broadway, and handed an employee a note demanding money.
Thomasson told the employee, a 26-year-old man, that he had a gun, but he did not show it, NCPD reported.
The employee gave Thomasson the money, authorities said.

Amityville Woman, Massapequa Resident Charged With Animal Abandonment
Two women are facing charges after allegedly abandoning several cats at a Long Island park.
The Suffolk County SPCA said Crystal Cahill, age 39, of Amityville, and Catherine Gropper, age 32, of Massapequa, in Nassau County, trapped cats in East Islip under the pretense of neutering and returning the cats, but instead left three adult cats in Tanner Park in Copiague.
The pair was charged with three counts each of animal abandonment and once count of conspiracy to commit a crime, both misdemeanors.

Marine Police on Long Island rescued two men after their jet ski became disabled.
The incident took place around 5:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 23, in the Fire Island Inlet near Overlook Beach in. Babylon.
According to Suffolk County Police, two men were riding a Yamaha Jet Ski in the Fire Island Inlet, when the vehicle became disabled. One of the men called 911 and reported they were drifting in the inlet.

A Long Island man was sentenced for distributing the fentanyl-laced heroin that caused the death of a 21-year-old woman in 2020.
Donta Riddick, age 35, of West Babylon, was sentenced to 16-and-a-half years in prison on Tuesday, Sept. 13, for possessing and distributing heroin and fentanyl, according to Breon Peace, United States attorney for the Eastern District of New York.
In his guilty plea on Jan. 28, Riddick admitted to distributing the drugs on Sept. 13, 2020, that killed a Massapequa woman.
