A man who allegedly stole a car, a necklace, and more was caught after he caused a three-car collision that injured two. The chain of events happened on Friday, May 31, and began in Freeport, according to the Nassau County Police. Two Long Island men are facing dozens of charges after allegedly stealing tires and rims from over 100 vehicles. Randy Woods, age 37, of Wyandanch and Dwayne Jones, age 45 of Central Islip are named in a 190-count indictment announced by the Suffolk County DA’s office on Wednesday, May 8. According to investigators, the pair targeted residents, car dealerships, and rental car companies across Suffolk County between July 2022 and October 2023. Five Injured In Truck-Car Crash On Route 78:

Five people were injured after a crash between a car and a tractor-trailer on Route 78 in Hunterdon County on the early morning of Friday, May 10, authorities said. At 3:42 a.m., a crash occurred between a Mercedes-Benz and a Peterbilt tractor trailer on Route 78 west in Bethlehem Township, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz and four passengers sustained minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Police in Monmouth County were looking for three suspects wanted for stealing luxury vehicles, authorities said. Howell Township police said officers responded to burglaries near Barrister Court and Vail Lane at around 5:14 a.m. on Sunday, Mar. 17. Three suspects "dressed all in black" entered two homes through an unlocked garage window and an unlocked rear sliding door. The suspects were able to steal keys and other property.
