The incident took place around in Merrick around 7:10 p.m., Tuesday, July 5 at the station located at 1185 Merrick Ave. According to detectives, Jerald Gadsden, age 31, and Heleena Velazquez-Krupp, age 28, both of North Woodmere, entered the gas station and approached a 62-year-old male employee and displayed a pistol demanding money. Man Dies After Falling Into Water In Merrick A man died after falling into the water on Long Island. Officers responded to 1944 Bayberry Ave. in Merrick for a report of a man who fell into the water, Nassau County Police said.  Upon arrival, officers, with the assistance of several civilians, located the victim and pulled him onto the dock where he was pronounced dead by a Merrick Fire Department Emergency Medical Technician, said police. Chef Stephen Rosenbluth, who works at Anchor Down Seafood Bar & Grill in Merrick, was voted Long Island's best chef in 2022, the site said. The crash happened in Merrick at about 12:40 p.m. on Monday, March 28.
