Alberta Clipper System Will Sweep Through Area Before Busy Thanksgiving Eve Travel Day
An Alberta Clipper will sweep through the area overnight Monday into Tuesday, bringing snowfall far north and rain elsewhere before temperatures drop dramatically on Thanksgiving Day. Precipitation will arrive sometime after 10 p.m. Monday. Areas south of I-84 will see all rain, with the chance of rain continuing through around noontime Tuesday. Immediately north of I-84, about a half-inch to an inch of snowfall is possible. The Albany area and northwest Massachusetts could see 3 to 6 inches of accumulation. (See image above.) Norwalk Man Charged With DUI After Car Strikes State Police Cruiser In New Canaan
A 31-year-old Norwalk man is facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence, after striking a Connecticut State Police cruiser near an entrance ramp to the Merritt Parkway, New Canaan Police said. The incident occurred on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 11 p.m. when Nicholas James Cenatiempo drove the work way in a construction zone on Old Stamford Road, according to police. The northbound incident occurred between Exit 27 (King Street/Route 120A) near the Westchester border and Round Hill Road (Exit 28) in Greenwich. Merritt Crash Snarls Evening Commute

There was gridlock on a stretch of the Merritt Parkway during the Friday evening commute following a crash that blocked the right lane for nearly an hour on the southbound side. The incident occurred between Exit 38 (Route 123/New Canaan Avenue) and Exit 37 (Route 124) with stopped traffic at the scene and gridlock to Exit 41(Route 33) before the lane reopened at about 6 p.m.

Weeks-Long Lane Closures Scheduled On Merritt Parkway
A bridge maintenance project on the Merritt Parkway will lead to lane closures and delays for more than a week in Fairfield County. The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced that the nighttime bridge project will take place on the parkway (Route 15) beginning on Monday, Sept. 17 in Norwalk. The closures are expected to take place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, from Sept. 17 through Friday, Sept. 28.
