Jamir Rawlings, 29, of Bridgeport, was hit by the train near Stamford around 6:50 p.m. Friday, according to MTA officials. The incident remains under investigation by MTA Police, officials said.

An unidentified person was struck and killed by a Metro-North New Haven Line train near the downtown Stamford station early Friday evening. The incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. The train had departed from Grand Central Station just before 6 p.m. Delays of a half-hour or more following the incident last for several hours. ID Released For Woman Hit, Killed By Metro-North New Haven Line Train A woman who was killed by a Metro-North New Haven Line train Thursday night has been identified, according to the MTA. Tricia Plotnik, 35, of Milford, was hit around 9 p.m. by a Grand Central-bound train just east of the Milford train station, said MTA spokesman Aaron Donovan. The incident caused delays, but MTA officials don't believe any criminal activity was involved. MTA police are investigating the incident, Donovan said.

Suspicious Package Leads To Metro-North New Canaan Branch Delays Some Metro-North commuters got held up early on Tuesday morning as police investigated a suspicious bag that led to delays on the New Canaan line. MTA police investigators were dispatched to the New Canaan Metro-North station at approximately 7 a.m. on Tuesday morning following reports of an unattended bag. The subsequent police investigation led to delays of more than a half hour for commuters traveling from New Canaan to Stamford. The bag was ultimately deemed safe and trains were operating normally shortly after 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
