19-Year-Old Found Shot To Death In Southwest DC: Police
A 19-year-old from Washington DC has died from a fatal shooting in the Southwest quadrant of the city, authorities said.
Deonte Pittman, of Southeast, DC, was shot and killed in the Unit Block of Galveston Street, Southwest, just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, Metropolitan Police said.
Responding officers also learned of a second shooting victim in the Unit Block of Forrester Street, Southwest. That victim was taken to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening, according to police.

A 16-year-old has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 15-year-old boy from Washington DC, authorities said.
Malachi Jackson, of Northwest, DC, was shot to death in the 3000 block of 13th Street, Northwest, on the night of April 11, Metropolitan Police said.
Police arrested a 16-year-old boy, also of Northwest DC, on Tuesday, May 10, the department said. He has since been charged with first-degree murder.

DC Pedestrian, 66, Struck And Killed: Police
A 66-year-old man has died following a pedestrian-involved crash in Washington DC, authorities said.
Clinton Covington, of Northwest, DC, was struck while crossing the street in the 5300 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northeast, around 9:48 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, Metropolitan Police said. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Initial investigation showed that a Toyota Prius was traveling southbound when the vehicle hit Covington, police said. MPD confirmed to Daily Voice the driver stayed at the scene of the crash.
