Area Man Killed After Hitting Parked Vehicle
A Connecticut man has died after hitting an unoccupied parked vehicle, closing two roadways.
Mark Thibault, age 36, of Milford, was killed around 6:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 22, in the area of E Broadway and Surf Avenue in Milford, the Milford Police said.
According to police, Thibault was traveling eastbound on E Broadway when he struck another vehicle parked on E Broadway.
Thibault sustained life-threatening injuries and was immediately transported by the Milford Fire Department to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A Connecticut man wanted for parole jumping was found with an assault rifle and semi-automatic pistol when nabbed in an area hotel.
Tijun Mims, age 26, of Hamden, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 18, for an incident that took place at the Red Roof Inn in Milford on Thursday, Feb. 4, said the Milford Police.
While being arrested on Feb. 4 for the Department of Corrections for being a parole jumper, Mims was found to be in possession of an assault rifle, a semi-automatic pistol, and four high-capacity magazines, police said.

Man, Woman Nabbed For Assaulting Cop, Fleeing Traffic Stop, Police Say
A man and a woman wanted for allegedly assaulting an officer were nabbed following a pursuit.
Lehman Blackmon, age 43, of New Haven, and Taneesha Barnes, age 37, of Waterbury, were arrested on Saturday, Feb. 13 by Milford Police when an officer spotted a vehicle that was wanted for assaulting a New Haven Police officer earlier in the evening.
According to Milford Police, when their officers attempted to pull over the vehicle, the driver engaged officers in a pursuit that ended on I-95 at Exit 39A.

CT Woman Arrested For Cruelty To Animals After Dog Dies With Injuries
A Connecticut woman has been arrested for cruelty to animals after one of her dogs died with signs of abuse.
Christelle Sommervil, age 41, of Milford, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 8, on a warrant by Milford Police.
Sommervil is accused of bringing her deceased dog to the veterinarian. Upon arrival at the vet, it was found that the dog had a strong odor of urine, bruising along the abdomen and body, crusting over the eyes, a pressure sore, and was emaciated, Milford Police said.
Sommervil was charged with cruelty to animals and released on a promise to appear ticket.
CT Man Arrested For Stealing $2,800 From Two Stores, Police Say
A Connecticut man was arrested for allegedly stealing some $2,800 in cash from two stores last year.
James Hill, age 43, of West Haven, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 30 by Milford Police on two active warrants which took place in January and February of 2020, Milford Police said.
Hill is accused of stealing over $1,300 from the Big Y at 105 Boston Post Road, in January 2020 and $1,500 from ShopRite, in February 2020, police said.
He was charged with two counts of larceny and was released on a promise to appear ticket.
