Area Man Killed After Hitting Parked Vehicle A Connecticut man has died after hitting an unoccupied parked vehicle, closing two roadways. Mark Thibault, age 36, of Milford, was killed around 6:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 22, in the area of E Broadway and Surf Avenue in Milford, the Milford Police said. According to police, Thibault was traveling eastbound on E Broadway when he struck another vehicle parked on E Broadway. Thibault sustained life-threatening injuries and was immediately transported by the Milford Fire Department to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. CT Woman Arrested For Cruelty To Animals After Dog Dies With Injuries A Connecticut woman has been arrested for cruelty to animals after one of her dogs died with signs of abuse.  Christelle Sommervil, age 41, of Milford, was arrested on Monday, Feb. 8, on a warrant by Milford Police. Sommervil is accused of bringing her deceased dog to the veterinarian. Upon arrival at the vet, it was found that the dog had a strong odor of urine, bruising along the abdomen and body, crusting over the eyes, a pressure sore, and was emaciated, Milford Police said. Sommervil was charged with cruelty to animals and released on a promise to appear ticket.

James Hill, age 43, of West Haven, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 30 by Milford Police on two active warrants which took place in January and February of 2020, Milford Police said. Hill is accused of stealing over $1,300 from the Big Y at 105 Boston Post Road, in January 2020 and $1,500 from ShopRite, in February 2020, police said. He was charged with two counts of larceny and was released on a promise to appear ticket.

Fairfield County Man With Active Warrants Fails To Appear For Sex Assault Hearing, Police Say A Fairfield County man who had two active warrants for an alleged sexual assault was arrested in New Haven County. Prince Carter, age 45, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 23, by Milford Police for the incident which occurred earlier this month. Carter is accused of failing to appear in court on Wednesday stemming from a Milford arrest earlier this month for sexual assault.  He is also accused of violating his court set probation.  Carter was charged with failure to appear and violation of probation. He is being held on a $75,000 bond.
