A heart-stopping video posted by a Middlesex County police department shows an officer running out of his car to rescue a driver from a burning vehicle in a Thanksgiving Day crash. The 3-minute and 40-second dashcam tape shows Monroe Township officer Douglas Perrone jumping out of his vehicle to Pergola Avenue near Namsan Drive around 8:40 p.m., and running straight to the fully-engulfed Ford Fusion -- the driver trapped inside. Trio Arrested In Gloucester Armed Robberies
Three people have been charged in connection with a series of recent armed robberies in Gloucester County, authorities said. Monroe Township police responded to a Heritage’s dairy store on Glassboro Road on Saturday for a report of an armed robbery in progress. A suspect, later identified as Brad Phillips, 41, of Gibbstown, crashed his vehicle on Prince Avenue while trying to escape, police said. Phillips was arrested along with two other suspects. Atlantic County Driver Killed When Car Crosses Double Yellow Line, Slams Fence
An Atlantic County driver died when his car ran off a Gloucester County road and hit a fence over the weekend, police said. Henry J. Berenato, 76, of Hammonton, was on Corkery Lane when his 2016 Toyota Camry crossed the double yellow lines and went into the eastbound lane, just before Ames Road/Sykesville Road in Monroe Township around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, local police said. Berenato's car continued off the road for about 200 feet before hitting a fence at a Student Transportation of America bus facility, killing him. The incident remains under investigation.

Monroe PD: Driver, 72, Who Struck NJ DOT Lawnmower Dies
A 72-year-old man from Monroe Township was killed Wednesday after his car left the roadway and struck a tractor mowing in the median, authorities said. Marc A. Mandelkorn was driving west on Route 33 near its intersection with Bentley Road in Monroe when the collision occurred about 1:15 p.m., Monroe police said in a statement. His vehicle crossed into the median, leaving the roadway for an undetermined reason, police said. UPDATED: Multiple police and fire departments were responding to numerous traffic and other emergency calls as a major storm passed through Central Jersey on Wednesday, authorities said. An 81-year-old Monroe Township woman died Sunday from injuries she sustained in a three-car crash on Route 1 in South Brunswick, authorities said. Theresa Dowling succumbed to her injuries Sunday at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, South Brunswick police said. Dowling was driving a 2017 Lexus westbound on Henderson Road at 10:47 a.m. Friday when she failed to stop for a red light, police said.
