Tragedy struck a Maryland family the day after Christmas when a 37-year-old woman was killed getting out of a car in a Giant parking lot in Montgomery County.
Burtonsville resident Michelle Gogan, 37, was getting out of the passenger side of her parked car at the food store on Old Columbia Pike when she was hit by a 2023 silver Mazda CX5 around 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 26, according to Montgomery County Police.

Police have identified the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash in Montgomery County as a 42-year-old Virginia woman.
Alyssa Marie Clark, of Reston, was driving a blue 2007 Toyota Camry westbound on Darnestown Road on Nov. 21 when her vehicle veered off the roadway and slammed into a utility pole near Bondy Lane shortly after 10:30 p.m., Montgomery County police said.
