Brian Benson, of Scotch Plains, died in a car crash on Wednesday, Sept. 17, according to his obituary from Memorial Funeral Home. He was 46 years old.
Born in New York and raised in Mountain Lakes, Brian was a Rutgers graduate who built a two-decade career in medical device sales with Bausch and Lomb, Johnson & Johnson, and most recently RxSight, his obituary says.

Traffic Stop Turns Up Firearm In Denville: Police
A 36-year-old Morris County man was arrested and charged with improperly transporting a firearm in Denville on Saturday, Jan. 11, authorities said.
At 7:42 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near the 7-Eleven at 45 W Main St., Denville police said. Officers discovered the driver, Daniel Schmidt, a Mountain Lakes resident, was improperly transporting a firearm, police said.
Schmidt was ultimately arrested and transported back to Denville Police headquarters for processing, police said. He was charged with a weapons transportation violation and released pending a court date, police said.

Services have been finalized for Christian Samay, a New Jersey native, who died while attending Bucknell University on Saturday, March 30 at 22 years old, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
Samay, a political science major, was active in the Phi Gama Delta fraternity where he was elected vice president and treasurer his junior year, according to his obituary on the Norma Dean Funeral Home website. In the summers, he worked as an investment banker, his obit says.
