Body Of Missing Central Jersey Teen Ty Sauer Found In National Park
The body of a missing 18-year-old Monmouth County man was found Monday in Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, park officials said. A preliminary identification of remains discovered in the park was made about two miles from where Ty Sauer was last seen on April 22, according to a statement from the National Park Service. Searches found the remains on Monday, April 26 at 2:55 p.m., officials said. Sauter's body was taken to a medical examiner’s office for a positive identification and to determine the cause of death, the park service said.

Newark Man, 25, Drowns In Delaware Water Gap Park
A 25-year-old Newark man drowned at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area on Saturday afternoon, officials said. The man, whose name was not released, was swimming near the Coppermine parking area off Old Mine Road in Warren County, parks spokeswoman Kathleen Sandt said. Multiple calls for a swimmer in distress came in around 3:50 p.m., and patrol rangers located the man's body around 5 minutes later, Sandt said. New Jersey Man, 30, Drowns In Delaware River
The body of a New Jersey man was recovered from the Delaware River in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area over the weekend, according to a National Park Service spokeswoman. The 30-year-old man who drowned Sunday won't be identified until his family is notified, Kathleen Sandt said in a news release. UPDATE: One of the most visited national parks in the nation will reopen a week later -- on Saturday, May 9, exactly a week after all of New Jersey's state parks and golf courses. Officials: Increase In Vandalism, Littering At Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area
Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area officials are seeing an increase in the number of illegal dumping and vandalism incidences throughout the park in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Authorities said they wrongly identified a pair of individuals as suspects in last weekend's Delaware Water Gap fire after posting photos of them to their Facebook page Thursday. State and federal firefighting agencies battled a wildfire that spread across nearly 70 acres of a popular hiking trail on the New Jersey side of the Delaware Water Gap and was still burning Monday morning. Hudson Valley Man Gets Banned From Yellowstone National Park
A Hudson Valley resident was one of two men who will spend time behind bars after being banned from Yellowstone National Park for trespassing in a forbidden area. Ulster County resident Ryan Goetz, 25, of Woodstock, and Colorado resident Eric Schefflin, 20, pleaded guilty to trespassing on the cone of Old Faithful Geyser at the National Park, and were sentenced to 10 days in jail and have been banned from the park for five years.
