Monmouth County Officer Admits Sexual Contact With Jail Inmate -- His Ex-Girlfriend
A corrections officer at the Monmouth County Jail admitted having sexual contact with an inmate at the jail in Freehold last year, authorities said. Thomas J. Mauro, 42 of Beachwood, pleaded guilty Tuesday to criminal sexual contact, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni said in a statement. An investigation found that Mauro and the 31-year-old inmate had a relationship in 2013 before the she was an inmate at the jail. A toy poodle who was found scared and shaking after two of her Jersey Shore owners died of the coronavirus is winning hearts around the world. A Neptune City family surrendered Che-Che to the Monmouth County SPCA after COVID-19 killed a father and uncle a week apart earlier this month. Two Hurt In Ocean County Garden State Parkway Crash
Two people suffered non-life threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said. One of the injured motorists was flown by Medivac helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune City after a northbound car and tractor-trailer collided in Berkeley Township at milepost 77.5, a state police spokesman said. The other injured driver was taken to the hospital by an EMS crew. Troopers from the Galloway barracks were called about 2:30 p.m.

Two Teens Stabbed In Freehold Park: Sea Bright Man, Marlboro Juvenile Charged
Two teens were stabbed and two others charged following a knife fight in a popular Freehold park, authorities said. Responding officers found the bleeding victims in the Durand Park parking lot shortly after 3:30 p.m. Friday, township police said in a statement.
