Driver, 31, Killed When Car Barrels Through Guardrail, Overturns In NJ Embankment
A 31-year-old New Brunswick man was killed when his car crashed into a guardrail in Montgomery on the early morning of Saturday, March 16, authorities said. At 6:10 a.m., Erik Rivera was driving a 2011 Lexus east on Belle Mead-Griggstown Road when he collided with the guardrail at an intersection, Montgomery police said. The vehicle left the roadway and ended up overturned in an embankment, partially submerged in water, police said. NJ Murder Suspect Who Dumped Body In NYC Captured In Philadelphia: Cops
A second arrest has been made in the murder of a Franklin Township man last December, authorities said. Daniel Matthews, 44, was arrested on Tuesday, March 12 in Philadelphia and charged with killing Artis Young and then taking his body back to Brooklyn, NY, Somerset County Prosecutor John McDonald said. Man Killed, Another Critical After New Brunswick Shooting
A 23-year-old New Brunswick man was killed and a second man is in critical condition after a targeted shooting, authorities said. Numi Simmons died in the attack, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and New Brunswick Police Chief Vincent Sabo. Accused NJ Killer Walks Free After Decade In Prison For College Student's Murder
Timothy Puskas is a free man. The one-time convicted killer was released on Wednesday, Feb. 21, from MIddlesex County Jail, after winning a second trial on a murder charge, according to his attorney, Joseph Mazraani. Puskas was convicted seven years ago in the slaying of 22-year-old college student William “Billy” McCaw in New Brunswick. He'd been incarcerated for 10 years. Joseph Luistro, Edison's First Asian American Police Officer, Dies At 55
Retired Edison Police Sergeant Joseph Vincent Luistro died on Thursday, Jan. 18 of Lou Gehrig's disease, according to Edison Township police. He was 55 years old. Luistro was a 27-year veteran of the police force and was the first Asian American to serve in the Edison Police Department. Luistro started his law enforcement career in 1993 at Rutgers University-New Brunswick Police Department. He transferred to the Edison Police Department in 1999.
