Authorities are searching through rubble following the sudden collapse of a church in Connecticut. The First Congregational Church, located in New London at 66 Union St., collapsed on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 25, according to New London city officials. A 78-year-old man who was found unresponsive in the water at a Connecticut state park later died. The incident took place in New London County around 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 6 at Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme. Officials with the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded to the park of a man found in the water at the park, said Paul Copleman, a spokesman for DEEP.
