One Dead, Three Wounded In Newark Shooting
A 30-year-old man died and three others were wounded when gunshots rang out in Newark Thursday, Jan. 26, authorities said. Al-Supreme Davis was pronounced dead at the scene on the 1000 block of Broad Street around 7:30 p.m., Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Three other victims were reportedly shot and survived. The investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests have been made. A teen and four men were arrested for separate shootings and weapons offenses in Newark, authorities announced. A 16-year-old from East Orange was charged with weapon possession after a female victim walked into University Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound on Jan. 2, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Two Newark Officers Stabbed During Domestic Violence Call
A pair of Newark police officers were hospitalized Thursday, Jan. 5 after being stabbed by a man while responding to a domestic violence incident, authorities said. The unidentified officers were called to a home on the 600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive around 4:45 p.m., when a suspect stabbed the officers, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The officers were rushed to University Hospital for treatment and were reportedly in stable condition. The suspect was arrested at the scene without further incident. The incident remains under investigation.

Man Dies In Fall From His Own Window New Year's Day In Newark
A male fell to his death from a building in Newark on New Year's Day, according to authorities and RLS Media. The man was found unresponsive after jumping from a building on Rowland Street near Bloomfield Avenue around 7:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. According to RLS, the man had fallen from a third-floor window of his home. He had apparently moved to the area last spring. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Man Wanted For Questioning In Newark Shooting
Newark police seek the public’s help in locating a 31-year-old man who is wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting, authorities said. Zyquwan Barnes is sought in connection with the shooting that occurred on Oct. 22, according to Newark Public Safety Fritz G. Fragé. A report of shots fired placed a Newark school on lockdown Friday, Nov. 4, authorities said. The call came in just before 3 p.m., near the Louise A. Spencer Elementary school on the 100 block of Muhammad Ali Avenue, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. No victims were located and no injuries have been reported.
