Two Busted After Crashing While Stealing Car In Westchester, Police Say
A pair of would-be car thieves didn’t make it far after crashing a stolen vehicle shortly after leaving a Westchester driveway. Officers from the New Rochelle Police Department responded to Davis Avenue at approximately 4 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, where there was a report of a one-vehicle crash where the driver struck a utility pole. Woman Killed, Alleged Drunk Driver Seriously Injured After Long Island SUV Crash
A woman was killed and a man who was allegedly driving drunk was seriously injured when an SUV crashed into a pole overnight on Long Island, police said. It happened just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 in Southampton on County Road 51 just south of Suffolk Community College in the southbound lane. A car salesman is facing charges for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from victims he met at dealerships across Long Island, the District Attorney’s Office announced. Bay Shore resident Jose Amezquita, was charged with two counts of third-degree grand larceny and one count of fourth-degree grand larceny after being implicated in multiple schemes at different dealerships he worked at across Long Island. A 53-year-old man drove drunk on the Long Island Expressway with his 10-year-old son in the SUV. According to police, while on routine patrol, highway officers observed Chaojen Cheng, of Roslyn Heights, on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 6:20 a.m. operating a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder traveling eastbound on the Long Island Expressway at Exit 33 in Roslyn Heights failing to maintain its lane. A porch pirate in Fairfield County was caught red-handed on a doorbell camera stealing packages from an area home in a video released by police investigators. Police investigators in Fairfield are attempting to locate a suspect who was caught on a Ring doorbell camera making off with packages from the front porch of a Rowland Road residence. A mother and newborn baby are both safe after the baby was delivered overnight inside a speeding car on the Long Island Expressway. An SUV crashed into a parking garage wall, temporarily shutting down a bulk of the parking garage and hospitalizing five at the Mall at Cross County in Yonkers. Fire Risk Leads To Recall Of More Than 200K Nissan Cars, SUVs
Nissan is recalling more than 200,00 vehicles that could get a little too hot to handle. Nissan announced the recall of 215,000 vehicles that may have anti-lock brake problems that may prompt actuator pumps to leak brake fluid onto internal circuit boards, causing fires. The recall is similar to one in 2016. The recall comes after Nissan received a complaint in January about an illuminated ABS warning light in a car that had been repaired during the 2016 recall.
