Person Struck, Killed By Train In Jersey City
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in Jersey City overnight Sunday. The Hudson Bergen Light Rail train struck the trespasser around 12 a.m., west of the Danforth Avenue station, authorities said. The individual's age and gender were under investigation as of Monday morning, NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith said. Service was temporarily suspended between Danforth Avenue and Richard Street. No one on the train including the two passengers were injured. The incident remains under investigation by NJ Transit police.

Man Struck By Train In Montclair Survives With Serious Injuries
A pedestrian was struck by an NJ Transit train Wednesday in Montclair. The man was seriously injured but survived after he was hit by the train near the Upper Montclair station at Bellevue Avenue around 4:35 p.m., NJ Transit spokesman Paul Milo said. Montclair-Boonton Line service was temporarily suspended but resumed with 45-minute delays shortly after. None of the approximately 15 customers and crew members on board the train were injured, Milo said. NJ Transit police are investigating.

UPDATE: Hackensack firefighters cut a driver from a vehicle after it was struck by a commuter train Wednesday morning, the second time in nine days that's happened in the city. The 70-year-old driver was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening after her Subaru Forester was struck as it crossed the tracks on Clinton Avenue at Linden Street around 7:50 a.m., police Capt. A female driver died when an NJ Transit train struck her car in Hammonton Thursday afternoon, officials said. An Atlantic City Rail Line train leaving Atlantic City at 2:40 p.m. struck the vehicle around 3:20 p.m., NJ Transit spokeswoman Kate Thompson said.
