An inmate from Suffolk County is facing new charges for assault and harassment, officials said.
Christopher Aiello, 49, of North Babylon, a current inmate at the Yaphank Correctional Facility following his arrest for criminal contempt, was transported to Suffolk County First District Court on Friday, Nov. 15, for an unrelated court appearance, the Suffolk County Sheriff announced.

Philly Pretzel Factory's new shop in Smithtown, which opened this month, is drawing long lines.
The chain sells Philadelphia-style soft pretzels and dips, pretzel dogs, pretzel cheesesteaks, and pretzel pepperoni melts among specialties, along with dips, and drinks.
Next month a new product, cheesesteak filled rivets or "little bites" will be added next month, a franchise spokesperson said.

New Long Island Mosquito Samples Test Positive For West Nile
Eight new mosquito samples tested positive for West Nile virus on Long Island, bringing the total to 46 on the year, health officials in Suffolk County announced.
Samples collected on Tuesday, Aug. 13 and Thursday, Aug. 15, tested positive for the virus in Lindenhurst, North Babylon, Nesconset, Bohemia, Farmingdale, Huntington Station and Selden.
Officials said that no humans have been infected, though three birds have tested positive for the virus, but homeowners have been cautioned to avoid having standing water on their property.
