21-Year-Old Severely Injured In One-Car Southern State Parkway Crash A 21-year-old suffered severe injuries in a one-car crash on the Southern State Parkway. It happened on Sunday, Jan. 19 just before 9 p.m. eastbound west of exit 37 in North Babylon. According to state police, Gerson E. Rauda-Garcia, 21, of Farmingdale, was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle, a 2005 Honda Civic Del-Sol, striking multiple trees.   Rauda-Garcia was transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital with severe head trauma. Rauda-Garcia was the sole occupant of the vehicle and the investigation is ongoing.
