Ricardo Sosa, 40, died at Temple University Hospital after being struck by return fire from four Philadelphia officers on the 2900 block of North Lawrence Street around 6 p.m. on Friday, July 4, police said.

A man was fatally shot in the head in North Philadelphia early Sunday, Jan. 12, police said.
Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on the 2600 block of North 27th Street in the 22nd District at 4:28 a.m., according to a release.
The man, whose age has not been determined, was pronounced dead on the scene by medics from the Philadelphia Fire Department at 4:28 a.m., authorities said.
The scene was secured, but no weapon was recovered, and no arrests have been made, police said.

Kevin Holloway, 45, Mark Scott, 48, Linton Mathis, 50, Atiba Wicker, 47, and Kenneth Tuck, 51, were all arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping resulting in death, kidnapping resulting in death, and aiding and abetting, said the US Attorney's Office.

Philadelphia police have named the two people who were killed in a shooting in North Philadelphia early Sunday morning, Jan. 14.
Authorities said they were called to a suspected speakeasy, or unlicensed bar, on the 2400 block of Myrtlewood Street just before 1 a.m.
They arrived to find six people suffering from gunshot wounds, the department told Daily Voice.
