Man Caught Shoplifting Left Kids Home Alone, Norwalk Police Say
A Fairfield County man was arrested after being caught for alleged shoplifting at a Walmart store and then telling police he left his small children at home.
Christian Otero, 37, of Norwalk, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 13, after running from a Walmart security officer with alleged stolen merchandise, said Lt. Jared Zwickler, of the Norwalk Police.
When officers arrived at the store, Otero was being held by loss prevention and was arrested by officers.
Otero had stolen $264 in merchandise from the store before running out, Zwickler said.

Undercover Op Leads To Prostitution Arrest At Spa In Fairfield County
Two women were arrested on alleged prostitution charges after police in Fairfield County served a warrant at an area spa.
The two were arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 9, by the Norwalk Police following a lengthy undercover investigation taking place at the Sunshine Spa, located at 666 Main Ave., in Norwalk, said Lt. Jared Zwickler.

Mother, Daughter Attack Woman Eating Pretzels In SoNo, Police Say
A mother and daughter were arrested in connection with an incident at a Fairfield County mall in which they allegedly beat another woman.
The incident took place around 4:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 6, at the SoNo Collection in Norwalk, said Norwalk Police Lt. Jared Zwickler.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the mall on a report of a disturbance complaint.
During the course of the investigation, officers learned that Jalissa Velazquez, 18, and her mother, Jessica Fuentes, 39, both of Norwalk were involved in the altercation.

Teen Held In Stabbing Assault Of Roommate
A fight between two roommates left one with stab wounds and the other in handcuffs.
The incident took place around 12:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, when Norwalk Police were called to an address on Bouton Street for a man bleeding from the neck, said Norwalk Police Lt. Jared Zwickler.
Responding officers detained the suspect, Walter Brooks-Rivera, 19, of Norwalk, as he was running from the scene, Zwickler said.
