Teen Driver Rear-Ends Cement Truck On Route 21
A teen driver was hospitalized after rear-ending a cement truck on Route 21, authorities said. A 17-year-old driver was behind the wheel of a Hyundai when he rear-ended a cement truck on Route 21 in Nutley on Friday, May 27, police said. The driver went unconscious and was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The cement truck driver suffered minor injuries. Route 21 was closed and traffic detoured for just over two hours for the crash investigation and cleanup.

A North Jersey store clerk came to the rescue of a distraught 90-year-old woman who was moments away from losing thousands in a scam. The Nutley woman had gotten a call from a girl claiming to be her granddaughter asking for help and to “please don’t tell mom” on Friday, April 29, Police Director Alphonse Petracco and Chief Thomas Strumolo said. A Newark driver who killed two people when he struck their vehicle in a stolen car has been arrested, and police have released the footage of his capture, they said (scroll down for video). Sharrod Rogers, 20, was behind the wheel of a 2021 Dodge Charger stolen out of Union struck an Acura, killing a man and woman, around 4:30 a.m. March 31, Newark Public Safety Director Brian O'Hara said. One of Nutley's most historic homes was ravaged by an overnight fire. Icy Roads Send Jeep Into Homes In Nutley
Several homes on one Nutley street were damaged by a Jeep that slid on icy roads last week, authorities said. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler struck several properties on High Steet and came to a rest on its side around 12:45 a.m. Jan. 17, police said. Police: Fleeing Shoplifter Struck On Busy Route 4
A fleeing shoplifter was struck and injured running across Route 4 in River Edge, authorities said.
