A Bronx man has been convicted after breaking into a Westchester County home while residents were inside and stealing valuables before trying to flee to a nearby train station.
Lorenzo Chambers, 35, was found guilty Thursday, March 12, of second-degree burglary along with a related misdemeanor, the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office announced on Monday, March 16.
Prosecutors said the incident happened on Feb. 12, 2025, when Chambers broke into a home on South Highland Avenue (Route 9) in Ossining while the homeowners were present.

Drunk Driver Hits Pole, Flips Car Outside Malta Dunkin’, Police Say
A Saratoga Springs woman was arrested after allegedly driving drunk and causing a rollover crash in Malta late Monday night, Aug. 25.
The crash happened around 9:45 p.m. on state Route 67 west of Route 9, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators determined that Alyssa Joly, 25, was driving while intoxicated when she left the roadway, struck a light pole, and overturned in the westbound lane, police said. Her vehicle came to rest in front of a Dunkin’ restaurant.
Joly was also speeding and failed to stay in her lane before the crash, according to police.

A man with an active arrest warrant was taken into custody at a McDonald's in Dutchess County, where police say they found him carrying a loaded ghost gun, high-capacity magazines, and knives.
The incident happened on Sunday, March 9, at the McDonald's restaurant in Hyde Park at 4258 Albany Post Rd. (Route 9), when officers responded to a suspicious person report at around 3:30 p.m., according to the Town of Hyde Park Police Department.

A 36-year-old man is facing driving while intoxicated charges after allegedly being caught drunk behind the wheel with illegal drugs in the car, police said.
The upstate New York incident happened Thursday evening, Aug. 31, in Warren County, on Route 9 in Lake George, according to state police.

Capital District Couple Tied Dog To Tree In Woods, Abandoned Him, Police Say
A couple from the Capital District has been criminally charged after police said they tied their one-year-old dog to a tree in the woods and then abandoned him.
Saratoga County residents Noah Center, age 24, and Ashleigh Allen, age 22, both of Corinth, were arrested Thursday, July 14, on multiple charges stemming from the incident.
According to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, Center and Allen left the Heeler mix, named Quade, tied up in a wooded area off Route 9 in Corinth, where he remained for at least two days.
