Lucille Howe (McElhaney) was born in Helena, MT in 1928 to James Lewis McElhaney and Dorothy Beatrice Stapleton. She was a third-generation descendant of the original pioneers of the Helena Valley (on her father’s side) and Walla Walla, WA (on her mother’s side). And true to her roots, Lucille lived her 91½ years with a pioneering, adventurous spirit. Lucille became an angel in heaven on April 5, 2020, due to conditions related to her age and not COVID-19. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Elmer, brother Edward, brother Donald, and baby brother Royal. She is survived …

Seriously Injured Teen Driver Airlifted After Head-On Crash Near Bergen/Passaic Border
A seriously injured 18-year-old West Milford motorist who was airlifted to the hospital following a head-on crash on Skyline Drive in Oakland was later pronounced dead, authorities said. The southbound teenage driver's Toyota Corolla crossed the double-yellow line and slammed into a northbound Ford van driven by a 64-year-old Ringwood woman shortly before 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oakland Police Capt. An apparently accidental weekend fire that claimed the life of a Bergen County teenager has staggered many in the community where she was raised, as well as others from area towns and beyond. Riley Boyle, 17, was in the shower when the fire broke out close to the rear entrance of the 2½-story Bonnie Way home around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, responders said. Authorities: Ramapo High School Threats Unfounded, Police File Delinquency Complaints
An alleged threat at a Bergen County high school proved unfounded, authorities said. Franklin Lakes police said Friday that they consulted with the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and filed delinquency complaints in connection with the alleged threats against classmates last week at Ramapo High School.
