Dutchess County resident Leonard Dolson, age 45, of Beekman, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, March 1 to the carjacking which took. place in March 2021, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
At the time that he pleaded guilty, Dolson admitted that on Friday, March 19, 2021, at about 3:15 p.m., he forcibly stole a car from the Save-A-Lot grocery store located at 97 Lake Street, in the City of Newburgh, the DA's Office said.

A Hudson Valley man who walked up to a stranger at a grocery store and fatally stabbed him in the neck has pleaded guilty to murder.
Orange County resident, Andrew Goodenough, age 41, of New Windsor, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Feb. 2, to the murder of Michael Kohus, age 35, of Highland Falls in June 2016, according to Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.
At the time that he pleaded guilty, Goodenough admitted that he stabbed and killed Kohus who was shopping at a supermarket in the Town of New Windsor.

A Hudson Valley grandmother has pleaded guilty to assaulting her baby granddaughter, causing the child to go blind.
Orange County resident Kimberly Bennett, age 45, of Middletown, made the plea on Wednesday, Oct. 27.
The assault, which occurred in February 2020, at Bennett’s home on Bedford Avenue, in the City of Middletown, resulted in the child suffering serious physical injury including damage to her brain and eyes, and rendered the child blind, said Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.

Two men have pleaded guilty to taking part in a burglary of an area motor-sports store that eventually led to the death of an occupant in their get-away van.

Hoovler announced on Monday, Oct. 18, that Luis Colon, age 27, and Jose Tavera, age 18, both of New Jersey, pleaded guilty to charges related to the burglary of a Town of Newburgh motor-sports store, in Orange County, where an occupant of the van that they were in which was transporting the stolen motorbikes and ATVs crashed, killing one occupant.

A Hudson Valley woman has been indicted on charges including attempted murder in a connection with the alleged stabbing of a woman during what might have been a 'love triangle' disagreement.
Ariana Sanchez, age 22, of Newburgh, was charged on Monday, July 19, said Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.
The indictment alleges that on Saturday, June 19, Sanchez repeatedly stabbed another woman multiple times, including in the chest, back, and leg in the area of Lake Street in the City of Newburgh.

Law enforcement officials are asking the public for help locating a suspect wanted on a warrant for the shooting death of a Hudson Valley man.
Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced on Thursday, June 10, 2021, Joshua Williams, age 31, has been charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of a man in Newburgh in 2020.
Hoovler said Williams, of Newburgh, intentionally caused the death of Jamie Fincher, age 35, of Newburgh by shooting him with a loaded firearm on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020.
