Covid-19: Hudson Valley Sees Nearly 1,300 New Cases; Latest County Totals
The Hudson Valley saw 1,273 new cases of COVID-19, according to new data released by the New York State Department of Health on Sunday, Dec. 13.

The Hudson Valley saw the positive rate for COVID-19 testing increase a day after it spiked a full percentage point, according to data released by the state on Saturday, Dec. 5.
The positive testing rate in all focus areas under the state's Micro-Cluster strategy is 6.17 percent, and outside the focus zone areas is 4.59 percent.
Within the focus areas, 54,956 test results were reported Friday, Dec. 4, yielding 3,389 positives. In the remainder of the state, not counting these focus areas, 160,445 test results were reported, yielding 7,372 positives.

The Hudson Valley saw the positive rate for COVID-19 testing spike a full percentage point, according to data released by the state on Friday, Dec. 4.
The positive testing rate in all focus areas under New York State's Micro-Cluster strategy is 7.35 percent, and outside the focus zone areas is 4.79 percent.
Within the focus areas, 50,367 test results were reported Thursday, Dec. 3, yielding 3,701 positives.

More than 1,300 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the Hudson Valley, according to the state Department of Health, which has been combating the recent surge of new cases during the second stage of the virus.

Storm Knocks Out Power To Thousands In Area
Thousands in the area have lost power as a storm system has brought heavy rain and wind gusts topping 50 mph to the Hudson Valley.
As of 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, Central Hudson was reporting 18 active outages that were impacting 1,035 customers: 624 in Ulster County, 180 in Dutchess, 125 in Columbia County, and 106 in Greene County.
A total of 2,678 of NYSEG’s 901,052 customers, including 1,229 in Dutchess, 420 in Sullivan, and 362 in Ulster, are without power.
Orange & Rockland Utilities were reporting 13 outages that were impacting 2,234 of its 303,406 customers.
