The Hudson Valley saw an uptick in both cases and the positivity rate for COVID-19 testing, according to newly released data on Tuesday, Oct. 20.
In "Red Zone" focus areas included as part of New York State's Cluster Action Initiative, the positivity rate for test results reported Monday, Oct. 19 was 2.91 percent - down from 3.31 percent the day before.
Within the "Red Zone" focus areas, 3,955 test results were reported yesterday, yielding 115 positives or a 2.91 percent positivity rate.

The Hudson Valley saw an uptick in both cases and the positivity rate for COVID-19 testing, according to newly released data on Friday, Oct. 16.
In "Red Zone" focus areas included as part of the state's Cluster Action Initiative, the positivity rate for test results reported on Thursday, Oct. 15 is 4.84 percent - unchanged from the day before - with 200 positive cases out of 4,133 tests.
In the remainder of the state, not counting these "Red Zone" focus areas, 131,906 test results were reported, yielding 1,507 positives or a 1.14 percent positivity rate.

Indian Point Sirens Will Sound At Full Volume For Four Minutes During Quarterly Test
There will be a test of the Indian Point Energy Center emergency notification sirens during a regularly scheduled quarterly test of the system in Buchanan this week.
Between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., on Thursday, Oct. 15, officials will conduct the test, which will involve sounding the sirens at full volume for approximately four minutes in Westchester, Rockland, Orange, and Putnam counties.
Officials noted that, because this is a test, the public is not required to respond when they hear the siren.
