Worker Killed After Falling Into Mixing Machine At Area Cheese Company
A 41-year-old man was killed after falling into a mixing machine at the Icco Cheese Company in Rockland County. The incident took place around 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15 at the plant on Olympic Drive in Orangeburg, said Orangetown Police Sgt. James Sullivan. When officers arrived on the scene of the accident they were directed to a mixing machine where they found a male employee, Edwin Nunez, of Paterson, New Jersey, inside of the machine, Sullivan said. 2nd Landscaper Overcome By Mower Fumes At Washington Township Condo Complex Dies
UPDATE: The second of two West New York landscapers overcome by carbon monoxide fumes from a running lawnmower that was with them in a closed trailer in Washington Township has succumbed to his injuries. Police found both men on the ground, not breathing, at the 17-acre Washington Pond condominium complex off Pascack Road and Linwood Avenue just after 8 a.m. Dec. 11 CPR was conducted on both at the scene before they were rushed to The Valley Hospital. Man Falls While Cutting Tree At Home In Westport
A man was injured when he fell from a bucket truck and landed on a truck below while cutting a tree in Westport. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. Monday on Bumble Bee Lane, said Lt. Jillian Cabana with the Westport Police. The man, who works for a tree cutting service in Norwalk, was transported to Norwalk Hospital with unknown injuries, police said. Man Electrocuted While Removing Tree In Hudson Valley
A 39-year-old man was killed while removing a tree in the Hudson Valley, according to police. John B. Nuzzolo of Newburgh, who was a sub-contractor for Simply Stump Grinding & Tree Removal, was working about 40-feet above the ground around 9:17 a.m. Monday to remove the tree at 29 Maple Road, said Cornwall-on-Hudson police. A construction worker had to be rescued after shoring gave way and fell on top of the man who was standing below. The incident took place Thursday at 1 Greyrock Place in Stamford when structural shoring being removed gave way, falling on a worker who was positioned below it, said Stamford Fire Capt. A utility worker clearing foliage from overheard wires fell 30 feet from a tree Wednesday morning at a Mahwah townhouse complex. Danbury Firefighters Rescue Injured Worker From Construction Site
DANBURY, Conn. — Firefighters came to the rescue of a worker who suffered a head injury Thursday morning at a home construction site in Danbury on Candlewood Lake.With the help of a local tree company, firefighters set up a rope system and basket to pull the worker from the basement of the home under construction on Forty Acre Mountain Road, fire department spokesman James Gagliardo said in a statement.
