Expect Delays: Closure Planned For Portion Of Long Island Expressway
Scheduled roadwork on the Long Island Expressway could spell delays Wednesday night, Dec. 14. All eastbound lanes of I-495 will be closed in the towns of North Hempstead and Oyster Bay between Willis Avenue and State Routes 106/107 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to transportation officials. The closures will allow crews to complete needed pavement repairs. During the closure, all traffic will be detoured onto South Service Road. A 63-year-old Long Island woman is among two people who were killed in a wrong-way crash on a major highway in Central Massachusetts, authorities said. 6 Garbage Trucks Destroyed In Blaze In Huntington
A fire destroyed six of a Long Island town's garbage trucks. Officials announced on the morning of Sunday, Dec. 4, that a fire at the Town of Huntington’s Boxer Court maintenance facility destroyed six of the 15 garbage trucks in the overnight hours. Police Seek Man Accused Of Stealing Woman's Pocketbook From Car Outside Long Island 7-Eleven
Police are asking for help with identifying a man accused of stealing a woman’s belongings from her car outside a Long Island store. The theft occurred at around 1:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the 7-Eleven in Oyster Bay, located on Pine Hollow Road, according to Nassau County Police. Police are investigating an overnight crash on Long Island that left an 18-year-old dead and two others critically injured. Police released the identity of a 32-year-old man who died after a crash involving a landscaping truck on Long Island. Colton Daniels, of Oyster Bay, was identified as the motorcyclist who died at the hospital after a crash in Greenvale on the morning of Monday, Aug. 29, the Nassau County Police Department announced on Monday, Sept. 5.
