Fake-Cop Suspect Arrested Collecting Money For Non-Existent Police Charities
A man has been charged with impersonating the police after he was allegedly found trying to solicit donations for area officers.
Darrell Marino, 51, of Palmer was arrested on Sunday, Sept. 27, and charged with possession of cocaine, disorderly conduct, attempt to commit a crime, and impersonating a police officer, police said.
Ware Police said Marino had allegedly used counterfeit paperwork to request donations at the Ware McDonald’s for a non-existent police fundraiser, police said.

About half of National Grid’s customers in the eastern portion of Western Massachusetts may be without electricity until the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 8.
As of Thursday, Aug. 6, 14,223 Hampden County National Grid customers were without power in the wake of the Tuesday Tropical Storm Isaias.

Feds Bust Weed-Growing Ring In Rural Massachusetts - Seize More Than 4,000 Marijuana Plants
Two Springfield men have been charged in federal court in connection with a major illegal marijuana growing operation that spanned five properties in a rural part of Massachusetts.
Weiqing Li, 41, and Li Qin Li, 48, were charged on Thursday, July 30, with manufacturing marijuana and possessing marijuana with intent to distribute, according to the Department of Justice Massachusetts.
Law enforcement had been investigating the duo since July 2019, when they became suspicious of activities at certain properties in Monson and Palmer, court documents stated.
