Man, 29, Shot Dead In Violent, Gang-Controlled Paterson Neighborhood
A 29-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday night in Paterson, authorities confirmed. Responding officers found the as-yet-unidentified victim outside Julio’s Grocery on the corner of Park Avenue and East 19th Street around 9 p.m. Tuesday, they said. He'd been shot multiple times, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora said in a joint announcement. A robbery victim who'd apparently been lured to the area for a supposed online transaction was shot in broad daylight on a Paterson street, responders said. One man was killed and another wounded in an overnight shooting outside Paterson Eastside High School, authorities said. Police responding to the 2:17 a.m. incident on Park Avenue on Sunday found a 21-year-old victim with multiple wounds and a 25-year-old man who was also wounded.
